After many years of excursions and Safaris around the world, I have finally assembled my favorite photographs on my new website. One of the primary purposes of my site is to promote the conservation of endangered species in Africa, particularly Tanzania, a country near and dear to my heart.
A safari had been on our bucket list, it was something we talked about for years and then finally took the plunge! My search was easy, I google searched the top five safari companies in the United States and Africa Dream Safaris was on that list. What set them apart was their web site, blog pages, personalized tours, and the recommendation of National Geographic.
Like many, I began planning for our safari by researching the internet to find out: when was the best time of the year to visit, where should we visit, what were the merits of the various travel companies that offer a safari in their catalog and who could we trust with planning this unique adventure for us.
As avid outdoorspeople and nature lovers, my husband and I decided last year that an African safari would be a great adventure. In particular, we wanted to see the wildebeest migration, and that led us to Tanzania. After several hours of research, it became apparent that African Dream Safaris offered just the type of experience we were interested in.
My wife and I completed an amazing 12 day safari in September with Africa Dream Safari (ADS), which exceeded all of our expectations. There are many reasons why I am glad that I selected ADS for our safari. First, I received expert advice when planning the itinerary for our trip and choosing the camps. A question I get quite often is what is a typical day like on safari while in Tanzania? Some different variations of the question are “how many game drives are there” or “how long do we spend on game drive each day”? But the answer depends entirely on you! Such is the inherent benefit of enjoying a “Private” Safari!
Last fall a friend and I were sitting in my living room discussing what items were on our bucket lists and of course an African safari was one of the top items. We decided that we were going to go and not put it off any longer!

I have dreamed of seeing Africa for as long as I can remember and as my 60th birthday approached I knew I couldn’t let it pass without making that dream come true. Since my husband had the same desire, we started making plans for a September 2017 trip.
A VERY common subject I field questions about is PHOTOGRAPHY. I am far from a professional photographer, but I am a fairly passionate photography enthusiast! So I’m happy to share some tips and suggestions based on my own personal “trial and error” experiences photographing wildlife in Tanzania.
When I booked this trip, I asked for Photography all the time and you did not disappoint! We were met at immigration and avoided a 2 ½ hour line and the following morning we were met by an individual named Precious. Sincerely she is Precious. She was the personification of a modern African women, smart, erudite and gracious.
To celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary, my husband and I decided to take a dream vacation to Africa. A safari sounded so exciting and we were by no means disappointed!

Hippos are one of the most treasured creatures spotted while on safari. While these magnificent mammals were once found all throughout Africa, hunting and habitat loss has sadly made their population decline. Today they are primarily found in protected East African countries – like Tanzania.
About that bucket list…Just do it, go on safari with African Dream Safaris. We did it in 2014 and had such a wonderful experience that we just did it again in September 2017!
