Don’t wait for the perfect time for your safari. Pick a time that works and GO. Our trip was timed for mid to late January, so the weather was perfect, and we even experienced the early stage of the wildebeest birthing season.

From booking the trip to the moment we stepped off the plane in Kilimanjaro and were whisked away to the private VIP lounge for visa and passport processing, every aspect of our trip was PERFECTION.

The Serengeti has done it again with a recent win at the World Travel Awards hosted in Nairobi. That’s four years in a row the Serengeti has won the coveted award for ‘Best National Park in Africa’. Africa was never on our radar or bucket list, but my dad had planted the seed with my brother and mentioned it to us and the search was on! Being recently retired there was never a hesitation in saying, yes! Not knowing anyone who had been on a safari led to our search and exploring on our own. The goal was Africa with the 4 of us in a safari truck and to be able to see what we could see!

From Beginning To End, The Africa Dream Team Delivered!
This trip was a long time in the planning. From our first contact back in 2019, our Safari consultant Dawn Anderson was encouraging, a wealth of knowledge and patient. We knew we wanted to do a safari for our 30th Wedding Anniversary in September 2022 and we knew we wanted Tanzania – the migration, the Serengeti, the Ngorongoro Crater. We also wanted a private experience so we could go at our pace and see what we wanted to see.
An African Dream Come True – And So Much More!
In 2019, we two couples started planning and booked a trip to Tanzania with ADS for 2020. Needless to say, COVID-19 had something to say about that plan! The trip was postponed twice, until this August 2022.
Who Needs Roads Where We Traveled!
When we decided to go to Africa for a Safari we spent a month looking into different companies. We literally started from scratch not knowing a thing. We decided Africa Dream Safaris was the best choice. That had to be the understatement of the year. From the initial questions, conference calls, emails and phone calls, we were constantly impressed and excited.
Our Third Safari To Tanzania With ADS!
September 2022 marked our third visit to Tanzania with Africa Dream Safari. It was our best trip yet. I am frequently asked, “If you’ve been there, haven’t you already seen it all?” My response is that since this isn’t like visiting a zoo, every trip is unique and exciting. This trip was no exception.
A Trip Of A Lifetime For Our Family!
It’s hard to put into words this trip. Africa…it has been on my bucket list forever and I knew I would make it there someday…and last week it finally happened! The best part – was that it was a total family affair in honor of our fiercely loving, fiery, Italian Mimi and her 80th trip around the sun…and what a celebration it was!! 5 families, 18 of us that included 8 adults and 10 teens made the trek to Tanzania.
The VIP Treatment At The Airport Was A Real Treat!
Our trip, of course, was spectacular. Our guide and new best friend, Ally, was wonderful and so knowledgeable, the lodges fabulous, and the wildlife sightings superb. With this being our second trip with ADS, we expected nothing short of that and it was certainly delivered. We saw all the large predators and many smaller ones, many antelope species, primates, birds and other fun and interesting wildlife.
We Had Many Amazing Photos But They Only Tell Half The Story!
My brother and I found Africa Dream Safaris through a referral, and from the moment Dawn reached out to us, we were impressed with the level of detail, knowledge, and passion that was exhibited throughout the process. This was our first safari trip, so we needed some hand holding throughout the process; Dawn and team were very patient throughout and organized a wonderful itinerary for our 10 night stay in Tanzania.
We Had Lions And Elephants Right Next To Our Vehicle!
This past May we were fortunate enough to go on a safari and we chose Africa Dream Safaris to help us. Africa Dream was the best decision! One of us is a bit of a nervous traveler, and they took care of everything – there was nothing that went wrong – if there was, we never knew as they took care of it immediately. Before our trip all our questions were answered in a timely manner, and in detail!
