The Reopening of Tanzania

In 2020, Covid 19 turned down the volume on the world. The Serengeti became a very quiet place and the wildlife were restaking their claim. Now the sun rises on a new year and we restake ours.

WATCH THIS VIDEO of the reopening of Tanzania and learn why this moment in time is offering us all a very special wildlife viewing experience like we’ve never seen before.

“Who you choose as your safari company right now, because of the pandemic, is probably more important than it’s ever been. Even before social distancing, that’s what ADS was doing. They were offering their clients remote safaris, private, customizable and they specialize in getting you away from the crowd so you can just be in the presence of animals.” – Guest / Jeff Smith

“We’re not everything to everybody. We don’t try to be. We have a very specific niche and we only offer trips to Tanzania.” – Sharon Lyon / ADS Safari Specialist

“I’ve been on safari so many times and I run into people who have booked with a travel agency and that company put them in the South Serengeti during the dry season! When the migration is up in the North Serengeti. They talk to me and I regrettably have to tell them, you’re staying in the wrong place.” – Dawn Anderson / ADS Safari Specialist

For the adventurous traveler, the opportunity to go to the Serengeti and have a unique experience has never been better.

Much More Than A Vacation!

Oh my, where do I begin. Our vacation started on July 21, 2021, in Washington D.C. We arrived at Kilimanjaro Airport and a representative from Africa Dream Safaris was waiting for us, just as promised, at the airport. We were whisked through the airport to the Covid testing site, and in no time at all we were on our way to the Arusha Coffee Lodge. What a magnificent place! We rested up and the next day we were promptly picked up and taken to the small airport nearby for the flight to the Serengeti.

Our trip to Tanzania was one of the most unforgettable trips of our lives. Tanzania Travel Update

We are delighted to announce that all of our safari guides have now been vaccinated with the single shot Johnson & Johnson vaccine and as an extra layer of precaution we are giving each guide a PCR test 3-days prior to the start of every safari. Rest assured that once you set foot on the tarmac at Kilimanjaro Airport in Tanzania, we will make you feel as safe as humanly possible with all the conveniences and safety precautions only a private safari company like ADS can provide. One Of The Most Thrilling Events Of Our Lives!

We can’t say enough wonderful things about our recent Africa Dream Safari, from the pre-travel planning to help negotiating the airports and COVID testing in the middle of the Serengeti. But mostly for our amazing, eagle-eyed, super knowledgeable guide Russell. He was with us all day, every day for our entire trip, which made it so personalized as he knew that we were interested in birds as well as the obvious animals, and that Ray was an elephant geek.

The Serengeti Is Truly An Amazing Experience!

Excellent, Outstanding, Amazing, Unforgettable are just some of the words I would use to describe our Africa Dream Safaris trip. From our first contact with ADS until the end of our tour, ADS was there to answer our questions, make recommendations and provide support for this amazing adventure. As this is the year of Covid, ADS made sure that every place we stayed and visited was safe.

We Saw The Wildebeest Migration On Our Very First Day!

We had the trip of a lifetime, thanks to ADS and our driver Chris. From the moment we landed in the Kilimanjaro Airport, ADS was there to make sure everything went smoothly. We choose to have an extra day in Arusha which we would totally recommend because, by the time you get the Arusha Coffee Lodge it’s after 10:00pm. The driving tour of Arusha, the cultural center and the coffee tour were all possible because of the extra day.

Another Excellent Tanzania Experience!

On our very first date in 1966 my wife and I talked about places that we wanted to see someday and Africa was at the top of the list for both of us. Life got in the way and it took us until 2014 to finally decide to make our dream come true. Fortunately we chose ADS to plan our “Once in a Lifetime trip” but we found that it exceeded our expectations so much that we just had to go back in 2018, and now we have just returned from our third trip to Tanzania with ADS in August 2021.
