The Animals Were Everywhere, All The Time!

Our safari in April of 2023 was a long time coming. We started the process of booking with Africa Dream Safaris in 2019. We had almost booked it when Covid hit and a divorce of a husband who was also going to accompany us occurred. Dawn Anderson, our ADS booking agent, was extremely accommodating and we picked back up our plans in late 2022. After a lot of back and forth we finally got our dream safari booked for April 2023.

On to the safari…from the VIP meet and greet at the airport, to when our guide dropped us back for our flight home, it honestly, could not have been any better.

Didah, our guide, was personable, engaging, and must have had binoculars implanted in his eyes – his animal spotting skills were amazing. His knowledge of all the animals was comprehensive and right on! All of our time with Didah was comfortable and wonderful. We saw at least 200,000 to 300,000 animals total, maybe more…makes me laugh because I wondered if we would really see lots of animals.

The animals were everywhere, all the time! Plus the school visit in Arusha, St. Judes, was so inspiring. The camps we stayed in were beautiful and comfortable and they did special “bush dinners” and savannah lunches that were spectacular.

We also visited a Maasai village and the FAME hospital in a small Tanzanian town. These were special experiences that helped to implant Tanzania into my very soul…it was not just about the animals although that is what brought me here initially. My ADS experience was SO MUCH MORE. I literally am feeling homesick now that I have been home for almost 2 weeks.

There are so many places in the world that I want to visit, why would I visit twice? ADS, and Tanzania, make me rethink my initial answer to that question. I miss Tanzania, Didah, and the whole ADS experience.
