Overall, for our family, our safari was an unforgettable and, most likely, a ‘once in a lifetime’ experience. However, if we are ever fortunate enough to go on another safari in the Serengeti, we will definitely use Africa Dream Safaris again. First of all, the world owes the people of Tanzania a dept of gratitude for conserving the Serengeti ecosystem. It is a place like no other! Africa Dream Safaris works within the culture and the ecosystem to share the magnificence that is the Serengeti. The relationships they have built were evident at every turn and I think that’s a testimonial to any company.
That was my wifes’ reaction when I made the suggestion for our next trip. Africa had always been on our radar but it had always been a “back burner” thing. However, after watching a cute movie about Africa on Netflix it was suddenly back at the top of my list.
Now the real work began. What kind of safari? Group? Private? How much? And where in Africa? Obviously, the choices were many and diverse. However, after consulting my crystal ball (and Forbes “Best Safari Companies in Africa” on the internet and figuring out the finances, we decided to give Africa Dream Safaris (ADS) a look.
My family and I just returned from our long awaited safari with ADS. I put extensive planning into this trip in determining which country to go to, when to go, and (most importantly) what company to go with! As a result of my research, I had very high expectations of ADS and they exceeded all expectations. Our entire trip was flawless perfection and surpassed my wildest dreams.
From the very beginning, we knew that Africa Dream Safaris was the right company for us as we planned a journey to Tanzania that we had dreamt of for years. The preparation, convenience, responsiveness and expertise provided by ADS were outstanding from the planning stage of our trip, through the entire time we spent in Tanzania, to the follow-up after we returned home.
We just completed our third safari to the Serengeti with Africa Dream Safaris – it did not disappoint! From the moment you land in Arusha you know you made the right choice with ADS. We were greeted by staff and ushered to a private area for customs, which included food and drinks – no waiting in long lines!
Amazing animals, excellent service, generous, warm people, exceptional guide – that describes our African Dream Safari in the Serengeti. Our ADS representative Dawn Anderson put together an unbelievable itinerary, with a great combination of tented camps and lodges. Each one with their own charm and warmth. Dawn was always available and ready to answer questions. This was our retirement trip and ADS made sure it was very special with a retirement dinner under the stars, Masai gifts, dances, fruit basket and sparkling wine and even a sundowner party and goodbye cake. They far exceeded any of our expectations.
Our trip to Tanzania was spectacular and ADS certainly played a large role in ensuring that was the case. Dawn Anderson was referred to us by good friends who travelled to Tanzania twice. During our first call with Dawn, we knew we had found the right person and safari company as Dawn listened to what we wanted and meticulously planned our trip, leaving no detail to chance. Dawn was knowledgeable, incredibly responsive and patient. This was very important to us, as we had never been to TZ before and had lots of questions, many really detailed and specific to our needs. As a result, we left for Tanzania in early February confident there would be “no surprises” and this was first borne out as soon as we landed.
In 2018 we started investigating tour companies in Africa and were very impressed by the literature and personal attention by Africa Dream Safaris and Dawn Anderson. There were no high-pressure sales but unfortunately plans change. When the opportunity arose again in 2022, I pulled out our ADS letters and handbook and contacted Dawn as I had a feeling in my gut that this was the right company for us.
We had been looking forward to this trip for a long time, having booked two years in advance and then delaying a year due to Covid concerns, so by the time we got to Tanzania our anticipation had been growing for three years. And to be honest, so had our anxiety over travel to a strange place during strange times.
I think it is important to start off by telling you what my wife and I are not. We are neither professional photographer’s nor are we professional writers getting paid or compensated for this article. What we are is just the average couple that wanted to go on safari in Tanzania and after careful research choose Africa Dream Safari’s to guide us on our adventure!
Starting out before daylight (our Choice), we looked back and witnessed the first glimmer of the sun setting the morning sky over the Serengeti on fire…It was in that moment that I knew we were in the right place with the right people to help us on our journey. This is but a handful of the 4000 plus photos we took.
Thank you for an experience I will always remember and treasure. I am struggling to find the words to express my profound gratitude to our guide, Emmanuel, who I am convinced provided the best safari experience anyone could ever have. All the ADS staff, as well as the staff at the different lodges, showed us tremendous kindness and took great care of us. They made everything easy – from picking us up at the airport, quickly moving us through customs and covid tests, getting us from one lodge to the next, catering to our food preferences, and answering our endless amount of questions.
My wife and I elected to make our 4th trip to Tanzania just 5 months after we returned from our 3rd trip. Two of the deciding factors in this decision were that I got an incredibly good deal on the long flight to Kilimanjaro, and we still had not made the trip during the January and February season when all of the Wildebeest babies are being born. So with the expert help and recommendations from ADS, plans were made and off we went. As other people have commented many time on this blog, ADS has been a perfect private safari trip planner for us. In addition, the people in Tanzania are so friendly, helpful and welcoming is just incredible.
Trip of a lifetime! Amazing! Epic! Having just returned from 14 days in Tanzania it is hard to imagine how the trip could have been better. I texted my safari consultant at the end expressing my excitement and satisfaction from truly an ‘African Dream Safari’. I had thought this was a once in a lifetime trip but now hoping I can find a way to return with my wife so she can experience safari.
