My husband and I just returned from the trip of a lifetime! Through Africa Dream Safaris we traveled from Arusha to the Northern Serengeti, through the Central Serengeti to Ngorogoro Crater and onto Manyara National Park and Tarangire National Park. We stayed in tent camps, lodges and hotels. The itinerary unfolded seamlessly.

I am not a person who is easily impressed, but simply put, my 10 day solo ADS adventure in late April was the most amazing trip I’ve ever taken. I live in Colorado, which is an impressive place in its own right. I’ve traveled to Europe, 47 states and Canada and I’ve seen some terrific sights in my life, but this trip was amazing from the time I stepped off the plane until the time I got back on it.

A special thanks to Allie and Ed who just returned home from safari and submitted this picture stitch using google photo. The images were taken in the Central Serengeti with a Canon Rebel on sports mode. When on this setting, you can hold the shutter release down and the camera shoots at 3 frames per second until you let it up.

Allie & Ed – Safari Guests
It is not often when reality surpasses your dreams but from the moment we landed on a dirt runway in the Central Serengeti and a herd of wild Zebras were our welcoming committee to the time that we were surrounded by over 2 million as we were front and center to the Great Migration, I knew we were part of something I could only imagine…up until then!

Our recent trip to Tanzania with Africa Dream Safari was life-altering, to say the least. On June 16, my husband and I, our children (ages 7 and 9) and my parents arrived not knowing what to expect. Tanzania is a truly amazing country, one that I missed before we even left. We felt very welcomed and safe and learned so much in just 10 short days. It is difficult to describe to other’s the scenery, the people, and the feeling you get while there.

Just like each of us has our own unique finger prints, every zebra’s pattern of black and white stripes is all their own. While there are many theories out there explaining the significance of these stripes, most relate to camouflage.

We recently returned from our Africa Dream Safari vacation and from our first contact with Michael to start the planning process, to the moment we hugged our wonderful driver guide Bennett goodbye at the Kilimanjaro airport, the whole experience was nothing short of AMAZING!

For anyone wondering whether or not the last part of the rainy season is a good time to visit the Serengeti, we can testify that for 2017 it was a great time to go. During our 10 day safari, we saw just a few rain sprinkles and only a couple short-lived downpours. The rain was a non issue for us. It kept down the dust, and everything was green and beautiful.

Did you know that giraffes grow a whopping 4 feet in their first year of life? At six feet tall and 150 pounds during birth, a baby giraffe is most vulnerable to attacks by lions and many die this way in their first year of life.

We didn’t know what we were in for when we boarded our flight to Arusha last November, but we arrived in a land of enchantment, generous hospitality, and heart-stopping drama in kingdom animalia. We absolutely loved our time in Tanzania, and have ADS to thank for every moment of that wonder. From Dawn’s precise pre-trip details to our warm welcome at the airport to our final goodbye in Zanzibar, we had the absolute trip of our lives.

The remote Silale Swamp is one of the top highlights of the Tarangire ecosystem. The swamp acts as a giant sponge during the green season and slowly releases water during the dry season. Huge masses of herbivores stream into the park for its water supply, which in turn attracts lions, leopards and wild dogs.

Like all the other reviews you’ve read about ADS and their Serengeti Safaris, our trip was fabulous! Dawn at ADS tended to all the details and it ran like clockwork – top drawer the whole way. We can’t imagine you could do any better.

Woodlands Camp offers “Out-of Africa” style tents ideally located near famous Lake Ndutu. Nestled in an acacia grove far off the beaten path, just nine (9) stylishly decorated safari tents line a grassy pathway leading from a main dining and lounge tent.

We have just recently returned from our safari to Tanzania which was arranged by African Dream Safaris. After researching many private safari operators we selected ADS and this was the best travel decision we have ever made. From the time our plane landed in Kilimanjaro until our departure eleven days later everything was handled in a professional, friendly manner by competent ADS personnel.
