Just like each of us has our own unique finger prints, every zebra’s pattern of black and white stripes is all their own. While there are many theories out there explaining the significance of these stripes, most relate to camouflage.
As extremely fast-moving animals, zebras can reach speeds up to 65kmph. This evolutionary advantage keeps them just fast enough to outpace lions and other predators.
It’s common to see two zebras standing extremely close to one another. It can seem as though they are biting each other but they are really grooming – pulling loose hairs off of one another.
