On April 17, 2017, four of us embarked on a trip of a lifetime that was well orchestrated by Africa Dream Safaris. Adventuring on an African safari was a bucket list for all of us, and the abundance of animals we saw in the Serengeti was phenomenal. It was a 9 month planning trip but Dawn from ADS took great care of us and provided all the details to make our trip perfect.

We departed the US on a Sunday and hit the ground running (or should I say driving) on Tuesday. ADS arranged everything from the pickup at the airport in Kilimanjaro to all the lodging—we never had to lift a finger nor was there any doubt that there were any issues with our reservations. Its truly amazing how everything came together!

We stayed at three lodges (Mbuzi Mawe Lodge, Lake Masek Lodge, and Ngorongoro Serena Lodge…in that order) which provided excellent accommodations and truly gave you an experience of camping in the wild. The popular term I kept using was “glamping” aka glamour camping…haha!

Many people have asked “What was the best part of the trip?”, and our response was “Everything”. However, one of the highlights of the trip was our decision to do a safari hot air balloon ride. All we could say was WOW! It was another bucket list item to check off.

A couple of us have been to the southern parts of Africa a few years ago, but never have we seen so many animals. At one point we were right in the middle of the great migration surrounded by thousands of zebras and wildebeest. We were also very lucky or fortunate the weather was just perfect…not too hot, cold, or rainy.

If you haven’t been on an African safari, then put it high on your list of to-do’s, and if you need a company to plan organize everything perfectly from start to finish, then choose Africa Dream Safaris—they are the best! We are looking to revisit Africa again in the coming years, and ADS will hands down be our first choice.
