Our Safari with ADS: A Journey of Feelings, Not Just Words

Our visit to Tanzania wasn’t just a trip—it was a journey of feelings. From the very beginning, there was anticipation and a touch of anxiety. But planning everything with Ann Eilert, our pre-travel guide, immediately set us at ease. Her attention to detail—what to bring, the paperwork, procedures—was not only accurate, but incredibly comforting.

There was a feeling of relief upon landing at Kilimanjaro Airport, where the VIP team greeted us, took care of our luggage and passports, and whisked us away to a lounge with snacks and a chance to relax. Then came our warm welcome from the “Meet and Greet” car and our driver Joseph, whose friendliness gave us our first true taste of Tanzanian hospitality and a hint of the adventure that lay ahead.

The warmth we felt at Arusha Coffee Lodge—both from the staff and the surroundings—was unforgettable. Was that iced coffee? Yes, please!

Then came the bush plane to the Serengeti… and with it, the real beginning. Meeting our guide was like being introduced to a future best friend and confidant. From that moment on, the safari began—and it was truly beyond words.

Each camp was unique and welcoming, each with its own special touches. We felt safe, joyful, and amazed. Bush lunches, attentive butlers, kind-hearted staff—everywhere we stayed was exceptional. Every single day brought something new: the excitement of the Big 5, the thunder of the wildebeest migration, elegant giraffes, mighty elephants, sleek cheetahs, and the heart-stopping beauty of lions. Oh my! The feeling of being blessed was constant.

We were immersed in a new world, discovering not only animals, but stunning birds, flowers, trees—and baby animals that melted our hearts. Every sense was engaged, and every moment felt like a miracle.

And then there’s Ferooz—our guide, our rock, and our friend. His passion for his work, his incredible knowledge, and the sheer joy he shared with us at every animal sighting (including the elusive leopard and even a serval cat!) made the experience what it was. His patience, professionalism, and personal connection with us made us feel secure and truly cared for. And believe us—we know we can be a handful!

Now home, we’re finishing journals, sorting through photos, and reliving each precious moment. We’ve left a piece of our hearts in Africa. All because of ADS.

From start to finish, they had us covered. We can’t recommend this journey enough. For us, it truly was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
