A little over a year ago, I started to plan a trip to Africa with my husband, brother and sister-in-law. I truly had no idea what to expect, even after talking to others who had gone on safari. However, any expectations I had were blown out of the water by ADS!
From the initial planning stage straight through to getting on the plane for the return to the US, ADS handled everything flawlessly. The FAQ booklet we received was invaluable and went with us daily on safari as we checked off animals seen and re-read about areas we were visiting.
Mathias met us at the airport in Arusha, navigated us through the Visa process and got us settled at the beautiful Mt. Meru Hotel then, took us on a wonderful tour of Arusha before safely getting us to our plan for the trip to the Serengeti the next day.
When we landed in the Serengeti, we met the most remarkable driver/guide we could have asked for, Ally. My sister-in-law joked that the man could find an ant on a hillside 2 miles away while driving down bumpy roads and checking with other drivers on the radio for animals that we didn’t want to miss.
We learned quickly that Ally knew where and when to find the animals. If he said let’s go out early so we can see something, we did it and were NEVER disappointed. Although I have no basis for comparison, I simply cannot imagine having a better, more knowledgeable and friendlier driver/guide. Ally was the best!
The first day out, we saw the crossing, twice! I spoke with someone at a rest stop a few days later who went with another tour company and hadn’t seen the crossing in 3 days on the Serengeti! Ally made sure we saw the Big 5, including the elusive rhino. We were breathtakingly close to the animals and frequently beat others to a spot for maximum viewing.
I had no idea what to expect in the tented lodges but my mind was blown! Who knew tents could be so comfortable? The food was very good and the people the best! The roads where dusty and bumpy but, the journey was worth every bump and sneeze.
EVERYONE needs to experience this incredible country while its still possible and DO NOT USE ANYONE OTHER THAN African Dream! They deliver the best experience you can imagine.

I agree with you about Ally!! After our first day he was dubbed “Ally the AWESOME”. Don’t be surprised if you start planing a second safari, soon! Our second trip was just as breath taking as the first!! AND, we were lucky enough to have our request to have Ally as our guide that time too!
