From The Big Five To The Smallest Of Creatures, We Saw It All!

When we made the decision to go on Safari we had many options of tour companies. Friends recommended Africa Dream Safaris and we must say it was the best decision we could have made. ADS delivered on every promise and exceeded many.

It was recommended by ADS that we take an extra day in Arusha, our first stop, to rest and see the town and we are grateful that we followed their advice. ADS personnel met us at the airport and we were safely in their hands. Our guide Mathias was great. He was very knowledgeable about Arusha and it’s people. We enjoyed our time with him!

Once we arrived by plane in the Serengeti our real adventure began. We were greeted by our guide Emmanuel (Imma) who we came to realize was the best! He was so knowledgeable and we are convinced had the eyesight of an eagle, not to mention just a great guy who anticipated our every want or need. His driving skills were pretty good too navigating the wet roads and slippery grass. We felt completely safe in his care

We began seeing animals and birds almost immediately after leaving the airstrip and we must say we were not disappointed. Imma managed to get us so close that we almost could touch the animals. At one point a lion’s tail actually came into our vehicle! We had to keep ourselves from touching it!

We spent our time in the Central Serengeti as well as the Ngorongoro Crater. It was one fantastic sight after the other, never a dull moment. From the extensive sightings of the migration and all the animals in their natural habitat. We are still reviewing the thousands of photographs and are still in awe of what we were able to see and experience. From the Big Five to the smallest of creatures, we saw it all.

We also toured a Maasi village. A real eye opener being able to see how they live first hand and truly understand their way of life and needs for the future. The people were welcoming and enthusiastic.

Our accommodations were wonderful with each lodge having it’s own uniqueness. The food was great and abundant as was the service at each lodge.

The format of a “private” safari is well worth it. We did not feel rushed, even though it was early starts and late endings every day, it was our choice. The efforts extended by Emmanuel were tremendous, to make sure we saw everything and did it in a safe and professional way. Every time we saw other tour company vehicles crowded with people and luggage we were grateful for using ADS.

Our trip included a three day visit down to Cape Town, South Africa, which we highly recommend. It is a beautiful city and the shoreline and drive down the Peninsula to the Cape of Good Hope was breathtaking.

On our way back to the USA we spent three days in Amsterdam also. Lovely city and as luck would have it we were there at tulip time!

Hopefully we can return again in the future and of course our choice will be Africa Dream Safaris!

Asante Sana
