We Were So Pleased We Chose A Private Safari Instead Of A Group One.

My wife and I finished our 10 day Tanzanian Safari to Serengeti Plains, Ngorongora Crater and Lake Manyara in early February. It was an amazing experience – more so than we imagined it would be. Africa Dream Safaris organized every detail perfectly. Any questions we had were immediately answered. In fact, the company provided a very detailed book before the safari filled with information about what to expect and what to take with us. One concern I had before the trip was what to do about toileting while on safari. This turned out to be a nonissue as our guide stopped every few hours at bathroom facilities

Every detail of our trip was handled perfectly from the moment we arrived at the airport until we departed. The African Tulip Hotel was a lovely spot to rest and relax after the long flight. The Serena Mbuzi Mawe Tented Lodge and the Ngorongoro Serena Lodge were also first class. Each lodge had a different setting and style but each served delicious meals with superb service. Moreover, every person in Tanzania is genuinely happy you are visiting their country and is eager to assist in any way to make your stay more enjoyable.

Africa Dream Safaris even recommended a travel agent that booked our air travel, including a complicated flight schedule that allowed us to travel on to Capetown seamlessly after our safari.

We were so pleased we chose to do a private safari instead of a group one. Our daily schedule was adjusted to suit our energy level. It also allowed us to stay as long as we wanted at any particular location instead of being at the whim of a predetermined time schedule or others in a group. Furthermore, the Land Cruiser allowed for excellent viewing and photography.

The one person who made our safari so extraordinary was our driver and guide, Benard. He was such a friendly and caring person. He had extensive knowledge of wildlife, trees and plants, and had reference books available for consult in the vehicle. Additionally, his vision was incredible. Long before we had any idea there was anything to see, he would direct us to “look over there” to see this or that animal or bird.

We saw an incredible number of animals in their natural habitat. Our goal was to have a wonderful safari experience and not focus on the elusive “big five.” However, luckily we did see all of them, including four of the rarely seen Black Rhinos. This was the trip of a lifetime for us, and Africa Dream Safaris made every detail perfect from start to finish.

  1. What lovely photos! It sounds like you had a wonderful experience.

We took our ADS trip while building a house on Lake Keowee, so we’re almost neighbors! It was, and still is, our “trip of a lifetime”. Our neighbors on on their safari right now because they heard about our experience. ADS is the best!

  2. Our trip with ADS (and Bennett was our guide, too) was hands down the most fabulous adventure! Your photos are wonderful.
