Africa Dream Safaris’s Review

My wife and I just returned from our 14-day trip with Africa Dream Safaris. We went to the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Lake Manyara. We went late January to the middle of February and had fantastic weather the whole trip. This was during the Green Season and we saw the Great Migration and game viewing was unbelievable.

We have been planning to go on an African Safari for some time. I started my research about 5 years ago and this is when I found African Dream Safaris (ADS). The reviews were excellent and I saved all my research for some future date. Well, that date finally came when we had the time and the resources to finally pull the trigger. I went back to my old files, did some more checking around and determined that ADS was still the best fit for us. I contacted Dawn and we began planning our trip and itinerary with her help.

Well, I must say that I made the right decision with ADS. I cannot imagine how this trip could have been any better! Mathias was there to hold our hands when we arrived at Kilimanjaro International Airport and they take excellent care of you until the moment you leave. ADS takes care of everything.

The accommodations were excellent and there really is no reason to worry about how comfortable you will be. All lodges and tented camps that we stayed at were first class. The food was good, the service was excellent and the local people were one of the highlights of the trip.

The safari itself was overwhelming. I had some preconceived notions about what it was going to be like, but I was all wrong. This area is the most fantastic place on the planet. Sure, I expected to see animals, but I did not expect to see something new every 5 or 10 minutes. This is what I imagine what the world was like before man dominated every corner of the globe.

Wilfred was our guide and he is a walking encyclopedia of all things in the Serengeti. He knows what every tree, insect, reptile, bird and mammal is, and knows the social structure of each as well. The game drives are an education as well as being the most visually astounding experience one can ever have. I feel like I now have a PhD in African wildlife. Needless to say, Wilfred is a great asset to ADS and I now consider him to be my best friend in East Africa.

I have attached a few photos that I took while on Safari, but I actually have about a thousand of them, and most are pretty spectacular. I could go on and on about this adventure, but if you are on the fence about going, get off of it and do it! And if you do, book your trip with ADS. You will never regret it. We are definitely hoping to go back sometime in the future.

  1. Chris and Sheila,

I couldn’t agree more with your comments. My husband and I took our first ADS safari in May of 2014. Tanzania and the Serengeti got in our blood and we knew that a return visit was an absolute must. So we went back in August of 2017. I can assure you that the second safari was as magical as the first. A life-altering experience to be sure.

    Isn’t ADS just THE BEST?
