To celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary, my husband and I decided to take a dream vacation to Africa. A safari sounded so exciting and we were by no means disappointed!

As we stepped off the plane at the Kilimanjaro airport our team from Africa Dream Safari guided us through the immigration and customs to a waiting van when we were whisked to Arusha and the African Tulip Hotel for some rest and relaxation.

All of our accommodations were amazing throughout our trip including African Tulip, Mara River Camp, Migration Camp, Sametu Camp, Lion’s Paw and Maramboi. On the morning of our safari we flew into the Serengeti and met our guide Thompson. He made our next 12 days some of the most thrilling of our lives.

Everyday was a new adventure and though his knowledge and eagle eyes we saw the most remarkable animals in their own habitat enjoying life. We were also so impressed with ADS’s commitment to respecting every animal and never making them feel uncomfortable with our presence.

To see an animal stalk and hunt for survival is breathtaking , yes it’s sad to see the hunted but that is the circle of life.

We also witnessed herds of elephants playing in the river like a group of kids and massive lions being playful and so gentle with their young. The migrations were amazing to witness, to say the least!

It’s really hard to put into words what a trip like this does to you. We have fallen in love with Africa, its people and of course its wildlife. We have to say a big thank you to Michael for all his hard work and planning. He was such a pleasure to work with in our planning stages.

We would also like to say a big thank you to our guide Thompson who made us always feel welcomed and safe. Everyone in all the camps and staff at ADS made our trip of a life time a dream come true! We all shared many laughs and stories to last for a lifetime! We would not want to change anything about our amazing adventure!
