We just returned from our 4th safari with Africa Dream Safaris and it was every bit as magical as our first. My wife, DeeDee, was a little reluctant to return to the Serengeti again as she was concerned it could not be as good as the last…boy was she wrong!
Michael went out of his way to make certain we were treated like royalty everywhere we went. The new VIP treatment at Kilimanjaro airport makes your arrival seamless. Mathias met us after we cleared customs and drove us to the Arusha Coffee Lodge.
We spent 3 nights at the Coffee Lodge to give us time to shake off the jet lag and enjoy the Cultural Centre and Shanga (2 places you do not want to miss).
On day 4 we flew to the Seronera airstrip and were met by our guide Emmanual “Emma”. He was an amazing guide! A safari is truly made or broken by the quality of your guide and ADS has always provided the best!
Emma was knowledgeable, friendly, courteous, and passionate about the animals and their habits. These traits paired with his ability to spot game and position the truck for the best light was brilliant, allowing us to take so many amazing photos.
We spent the next 3 nights at Sametu Camp. The staff, under Jonas’ leadership, is the best and the special guests were amazing . . . elephants, giraffes and cape buffalos.
We were out every morning before sunrise and back to camp just before dinner. We spent the days exploring the surrounding area. Lions, leopards, cheetahs, giraffes, elephants and so much more.
We saw more male lions than we have ever seen on a trip including prides with 3, 4 and yes, 5 males! We also saw these males showing love to one another as well as towards the cubs, what a beautiful experience!
You never know what was going to be around the next corner.
Next, we moved on to spend the 4 nights at Woodlands Camp in the Ndutu area. The main reason we chose to come to the Serengeti in mid-February was to experience the wildebeest calving season.
We spent the next 4 days following the Great Migration…tens of thousands of animals at a glance and wildebeest calves everywhere.
We saw 3 births and the calves were up and walking within 10 minutes of hitting the ground. It was amazing!!!!
Although we have never experienced the migration in the north, crossing the Mara River, we did get to see a large herd of wildebeest cross Lake Masek on this trip.
Thanks to Michael, Emma, Mathias and the ADS team behind the scenes, who made this safari another unforgettable experience. We are already thinking about going back for Number 5!!!!

Absolutely loved your photos. Have been there twice with ADS and hope to make a third trip someday.
