We can’t say enough good things about our experience with Africa Dream Safari. If you want a top tier travel adventure you have found the right organization! Here are key points you may find useful:

Our contact, Ann Eilert, was so helpful and responsive to our numerous inquiries. Early on we had to reschedule the dates for our trip which she was able to arrange without a problem. We felt very well prepared for this ‘trip of a lifetime’. With the materials provided by ADS and the wealth of information Ann provided we knew what to expect throughout.

Coming from the US we arrived at Kilimanjaro Airport about 24 hours after we left our home. We were greeted there with a sign with our names on it and whisked through express customs. Loved this!

Everyone we encountered was welcoming and open to answering our many questions about life in Tanzania. The friendliness of the people here was remarkable.

The accommodations were beyond our expectations. We had seen pictures but experiencing them was something else. We chose the Hemingway option and stayed at Arusha Coffee Lodge, Mara River Camp, Mbuzi Maui Tented Lodge, Seronera Sametu Camp, Lion’s Paw and Maramboi Tented Lodge.

All accommodations were well appointed, comfortable and spacious. Also, they are well located to minimize early morning drive times, you’ll definitely appreciate this. If we had to name a favorite it would undoubtedly be Lion’s Paw, on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater. The views and the sunset here are spectacular.

Our safari vehicle (we named it Suzy) was more comfortable than expected. We chose a private safari so we had plenty of room to move around for viewing and photography. It was well stocked with snacks and beverages, and every morning Suzy was freshly cleaned inside and out, ready to roll!

And maybe the most important aspect of this journey – our driver/guide Ferouz. He was simply exceptional. He was always smiling and engaging, willing to answer any and all questions about his life, family and Tanzanian culture. His knowledge of wildlife and the ability to spot birds and animals is extraordinary.

We learned so much from Ferouz as we made our way and we loved his sense of caring for the animals and the land. He is also a very good driver, we never felt unsafe and he did a great job avoiding as many bumps in the road as possible. Just the fact that guides can navigate these vast areas with no road signs is amazing.

Needless to say, we highly recommend ADS. From beginning to end this was a phenomenal trip, one that we will never forget!
