The Joys of Fishing on a Safari

I must say, from beginning to end, I totally loved each and every experience of my Safari to Tanzania. It all started with Dawn Anderson who put my package together right through to my outstanding guide, Roman, who took me ‘Fishing’ each day of the trip. I thank both of them from the bottom of my heart.

An “African Dream Safari” is truly an adventure that you can only understand once you go. I sincerely believe that my trip was not just one safari but more like 5 Safari’s rolled into one. I not only saw the Big 5 (Buffalo, Leopards, Elephants, Rhino’s and Lions) but experienced so much more. Being an avid fisherman, I loved it when Roman coined the phrase “going fishing” because you never really knew what was going to happen around the next corner or bend in the road. We were “always fishing” for the next great moment.

As my trip developed, I took 12,000 plus pictures. It wasn’t by accident that I took that many photo’s, I planned on it and planned for it. My overall goal, however, was to come out of my trip with 10 great shots. I think I have reached that goal as I edit through my shots.

I’m going to share some of my mother and baby photos of a Cheetah, Lion, and Leopard that were taken as the days passed. In fact, I felt extremely fortunate to get all of them in one safari.

I could talk about my adventures and the wonderful experiences from “ADS” for hours. Instead, I will keep this short and recommend, if you’ve ever dreamed of going on a Safari, you just do it! You can look at pictures and listen to what I have to say but you can’t appreciate it until you can say you’ve been there and experienced it for yourself.

One last thing that I suggest, take a decent camera with you and practice with it before you go. I saw so many people trying to use phone cameras. Trust me, you’ll be disappointed when you come away with only phone shots.
Good Luck and Cheers to a great time with “ADS”, they are the best!

“Happy Fishing”,
