By Ally Dhulkfil with Alain, Monique and Cullen – Bush Greetings

Jambo to the ADS family! This is driver-guide Ally reporting from the Serengeti National Park. I had an awesome safari with a family of two adults and one teenager from Canada named Alain, Monique and Cullen. The safari dates were August 21, 2013 to August 29, 2013. We spent 2 nights in the North Serengeti and the new Lemala Kuria Camp, 2 nights in the Loliondo Game Reserve at Buffalo Camp, 2 nights in the Central Serengeti at the beautiful Four Seasons Bilila Lodge and 2 nights in the Ngorongoro Crater split between Crater Lodge and the Manor Lodge.

We started from the Mara River Airstrip in the North Serengeti where we had tremendous game viewing opportunities due to the high concentrations of animals. We even witnessed several crossings including one crossing that lasted almost 1 hour. Most of the migratory wildebeest and zebra herds are on the Tanzanian side of the border and only a few smaller herds remain in Kenya.

Whenever you see lots of herbivores, you are bound to get some good carnivore sightings. Luckily, we saw leopards including one with a young wildebeest up in a tree that it must have successfully hunted. Pound for pound the leopard is the strongest predator in the Serengeti and it is always amazing how they drag prey larger themselves up into the tall branches of the accacia tree. In the Central Serengeti we saw three leopards but this time with a Thomson gazelle kill in a tree. We also were privileged to see cheetahs hunting, but unfortunately they couldn’t catch their prey. Here a few of my snap shots from my safari.

Regards,
Ally Dhulkifil,

By Ally Dhulkfil – Awesome Safari.

Good morning from Arusha, Tanzania. My name is Ally Dhulkfil and I am a professional guide with ADS. My most recent safari was a short but sweet trip that began on August 3rd, 2013 with 3 nights in the North Serengeti split between Buffalo Camp and Lemala Mara Camp, 2 nights in the Central Serengeti at Sametu Camp and a final night at the Ngorongoro Crater at Lions Paw Camp.

My two guests were from Cincinnati, Ohio (USA) and their names were John and Terrie. We had a very nice time together and were lucky to see a tremendous amount of animals during our adventure. We started our trip in the North Serengeti where we saw three brother cheetahs and nearby some elephants crossing the Mara river. In the Central Serengeti, when we went for an early morning game drive and came across a pride of lions and also the balloon ride which made for a nice picture with the sunlight. I hope you enjoy the pictures!

By Ally Dhulkfil – Safari Report July 22, 2013

Warm greetings from my home in Arusha, Tanzania. My name is Ally and I am a professional safari guide with Africa Dream Safari. I have just concluded a safari with two guests from Staten Island New York named Tony and his wife Colleen. The safari dates were July 14th to July 20th.

We had a wonderful time and were lucky to have quite a few tremendous game viewing opportunities during our 6 nights together. We started our safari from the north part of the Serengeti ecosystem, where we saw the wildebeest migration. We stayed 1 night at the Lemala Camp before continuing on to Buffalo Camp in the Loliondo Game Reserve. After Buffalo, we spent two nights in the Central Serengeti at the Four Seasons Lodge for a chance to see some of the resident animals that inhabit the Serengeti including the big cats. We finished our safari with a final night on the Ngorongoro Crater at Lion’s Paw Camp, which is a great bush camp and a nice place to end an adventure.

I have attached a couple picture here to my posting including the wildebeest migration in Lamai Triangle, North Serengeti. It was really awesome when we saw them in a single profile and with some groups of elephants. Another photo included here is in Nyamalumbwa valley where we found some Giraffes posing for our cameras. Lastly, when we were in Seronera valley in the Central Serengeti we encountered some hippos basking in the sun along the banks of the Seronera river.

Thanks,

Ally – ADS guide.

By Ally Dhulkfil – Lioness Catches Thomson’s Gazelle

Greetings from Arusha, Tanzania. My name is Ally, a guide with ADS, and I am home now after completing a safari with a really nice family from Connecticut, USA with a mother, father, 13-year old son, and a 9-year old daughter. Their names were Karen, Alan, Alexander and Isobel. We spent a total of six nights on safari finishing the trip on July 1st when the clients departed back home on KLM Airlines.

One of the most interesting sightings occurred in the Grumeti area of the West Serengeti. We watched a lioness catch a Thomson Gazelle but she did not immediately kill the gazelle. Rather, she seemed to play with it for quite some time. It was very sad to watch and even myself was holding back tears. I explained to the clients that this is how mother nature works. It is all part of the magnificent Serengeti ecosystem though sometimes it can be difficult not to get emotionally involved with the struggles of some of these beautiful animals.

Sincerely,

Ally Dhulkfil

By Ally Dhulkfil – Experiencing The Maasai Lifestyle

One of the highlights for many of the guests going on safari with me is visiting with the Maasai people that live in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area or NCA. The NCA is situated just outside of the Sernegeti National Park. This is esepcially true for my younger guests who seem to get a lot out of the experience by learning about the Maasai culture. The Maasai live a traditional semi-nomadic lifestyle that remains mostly unchanged. I have included here some photos I took on my most recent safari. I encourage all guests who are interested to stop at one of the villages in NCA to learn about the Maasai.

Crossing Lake Ndutu

Good evening from Tanzania. My name is Ally Dhulkfil and I am a guide with Africa Dream Safaris. I have posted some pictures below from my most recent safari beginning on February 5, 2013 and ending on February 12, 2013.  My guests and I enjoyed 7 nights together visiting several different areas of the Northern Tanzania safari circuit with 2 nights in the Central Serengeti, 2 nights in the South Serengeti, 2 nights on the rim of the Ngorongro Crater and our last night above Lake Manyara.  One of the highlights was watching some of the wildebeest cross Lake Ndutu in the South Serengeti and a playful pride of lions (also near Ndutu).

By Ally Dhulkfil – Greetings From The Bush

Good morning from Tanzania. I have just returned from a spectacular safari where we enjoyed 9 days in the bush visiting the Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater and Tarangire National Parks. One of the wildlife viewing highlights occurred on January 9, 2013 in the Seronera Valley in the Central Serengeti pictured above. It was amazing to see an entire pride of lions in a sausage tree (Kigelia Africana). This tree is known for its numerous sausage like fruits that hang down its branches. We counted 14 lions up in the sausage tree. Amazing! Another highlight was this family of cheetah we spotted on the Southern Serengeti Plains.

From Guide Ally Dhulkfil – Mara River Crossing Photos

I am back in Arusha now after finishing my latest safari. I think my guests can agree that the wildlife viewing was outstanding. Two of the most interesting sightings to me were seeing the wildebeest crossing the Mara River (we saw two separate crossings) on October 4th and also spotting the very endangered wild dog. There is a pack of about 16 dogs that have been ranging inside Tarangire National Park and it is a really special experience to be one of the lucky persons to see this rare predator.
