I don’t have the words to express the incredibly surprising expedition I recently found myself taking. I, and 2 friends, went on a safari with Africa Dream Safaris in Tanzania. It was an amazing adventure. ADS delivered everything they said they would, and I feel like they delivered much more. It was life changing!

The contacts had with all staff members, whether at the hotel in Arusha, any of the 3 Camps (Sametu, Woodland, or Lion’s Paw), even with the ADS staff members (Matthias, Claude, and Patrick), were all very positive. Everyone was so helpful and friendly. However, I must give extra praise to our game driver/tour guide, Patrick.

Patrick was the best!! Every day, he was tasked with something specific that our group wanted him to find. By the end of the adventure, I was calling him “Magic Patrick,” because magically he came through with those requests. He was very knowledgeable about the area, the animals, and the terrain we were driving in.

Patrick answered all of our questions and anytime we stopped to take photos of our surroundings, if Patrick felt further explanation was needed on what he already told us, he would flip through some pages in a few books he brought with him (I like to think of them as his “Bibles of animals”), then he would give further information or show pictures from those books of what he was explaining.

There were so many spectacular things to be seen, the people of the Maasai tribe that we stopped at, though they did not live materialistically, were so genuinely happy, and the animals in all of the Serengeti & the Ngorongoro Crater were so majestic.

All of the accommodations were so appropriate for the area. As told by camp staff, “we are in the animals’ environment, they are not in ours.” It all makes perfect sense. The views from every camp we occupied were absolutely gorgeous and one never knew what animals would be lurking nearby. It was never known from day to day what magnificence would be encountered. Every bit of it was part of Tanzania’s greatness.

The experience as a whole was absolutely AMAZING! I would definitely do it again! Special “Thank You’s” to Sharon Lyon for helping my friends and I with the planning/itinerary and Patrick – the most awesome guide EVER! – for making the experience one of the best experiences of my life!

There were so many different Safari companies out on the game drives everyday, but I wouldn’t change my experience for anything. When I go on my next African Safari with ADS, I’m going to see if Patrick is available to be my tour’s guide again.
