Our family just returned from the best and most amazing trip of our lives – a safari in Tanzania with African Dream Safaris. The trip was flawless with every detail implemented of delicious food, amazing tour guide who was so nice and informative, beautiful accommodations, and travel.
We landed in Kilimanjaro with three nights to rest up in Arusha – two at the beautiful Grand Melia and one at the stunning Arusha Coffee Lodge. Both were exquisite and very different. I highly recommend both places!

We left Arusha Airport on a small plane to head to the Central Serengeti for our first stop. I love that ADS planned the trip based on the big migrations. The Sametu Camp was glorious with the best staff (shout out to Baraka)- so friendly and ensured we were always happy and safe. I won’t share the two guest experiences that were surprises but they both blew our minds away.
In the central region, we loved seeing an actual leopard take their kill up a tree, male lions drinking water at a very populated watering hole, elephant herds with lots of babies, giraffes, antelopes, wildebeests and lots of zebras. Our guide, Emmanuel was so knowledgeable and very kind. We always felt safe during the trip.

After Sametu Camp, we headed to a luxurious stay at the Four Seasons. We loved the break in the trip to relax at a pool, eat delicious food and more animal sightseeing. We were treated to a Massai dance at dinner which was very entertaining.
Our favorite animal sightings in this area were to see a huge migration of the wildebeests, zebras and gazelles as well as hippo pool. I have a crazy video of two hippos in a “fight”.

The end of our trip was a stay at Lions Paw at the top of Ngorongoro Crater. It was its own ecosystem and SO BEAUTIFUL. Two amazing experiences were to see rhinos and watch three lionesses walk by our vehicle and get in formation for a kill. It was breathtaking.
Lions Paw is so unique resting at the top of the crater – we had yummy food, lovely South African wine and even played a game of cards at sunset.

I can’t give enough accolades to ADS with the planning, execution and overall excellence experience with our first safari. I can hardly wait to go back and would never use any other outfitter. Truly, it was a dream come true and the top of my life bucket list.
Kudos to Joseph, Stanley and Emmanuel for all ensuring we had the absolute best time in Africa and appreciate all the follow up and details that Sharon provided.
Until the next time… I will miss you Africa. You are truly unforgettable.
