We just returned home from the most amazing travel experience that we have ever had. Two couples, 9 days on safari in the Central and Southern Serengeti and the Crater highlands..

– Our guide, Bernard, was perfect for us. Knowledgeable, patient, fun, and a great human. Having returned home, he’s the thing we miss the most!

– The animals are incredible. We didn’t know what to expect – maybe lots of driving interspersed with some binoculars viewing? That was NOT our experience. The animals were plentiful and close. Best of all, they are indifferent to the vehicles, so one can often observe them for as long as one likes.

– The landscape was incredibly vibrant and varied. After a lifetime of seeing pictures of Africa, the added richness of seeing it in person was unexpected. Even without animals, one could spend the entire time gazing at the landscape – or even just the expansive sky.

– The people were gracious, warm, and fun-loving. Before arriving, we were a little worried that we would feel like we were exploiting them and/or their home – but without fail they made us feel warmly welcome. It was great to see them take so much pride in their country and culture – it is remarkable what they have been able to preserve.

– The food and accommodations (we did the Hemingway experience) were fantastic – but, to be honest – that’s not why you go. The richness of the rest of the experience dwarfed those considerations.

For our group, this was a trip of a lifetime. We were especially grateful that we went with Africa Dream Safaris. We didn’t realize how different safari experiences could be until we saw other groups.

If you are going to safari, it is a totally different experience to have a dedicated guide and control over how you spend your time. This is not the type of trip to cut corners. We will encourage all of our friends who are considering a trip like this to go with ADS and would 100% use ADS on any return safaris.

Overall, the trip far exceeded our expectations in every meaningful way. It truly was a dream come true for us.
