Tanzania Is The Place To Go!

We had an incredible experience with African Dream Safaris. Tanzania is the place to go and ADS was superb. Now that we are “experienced” safari explorers, we believe the most important aspects of all are: have a great camera (the Nikon P600 outperformed all others on our trip), choose the right time of the year, have the best guides, have comfortable vehicles, and have great lodging to come home to each evening.

We got lucky and chose the camera after our group discussed options – and ADS took care of the rest. The guides/drivers were outstanding: good English skills and great knowledge. Perhaps most important, they were always concerned about our safety. We noticed the competence of the drivers at a few key moments. Excellent all around!

  1. I have watched this site for the year before our trip with ADS and in the two years that followed. Your photos are some of the most remarkable that I’ve seen. Thanks for sharing them!

    1. I completely agree Ginger. This was probably the most diverse collection of photos I can ever remember receiving. From dragonflies to leopards, they really captured it all. My favorite is that profile shot of that beautiful male lion with the agama lizard in the foreground. That shot in particular I thought was striking.

  2. Every once in a while, I check out the ADS blog to see recent safari photos. Wow! Your photos capture the essence of what makes Tanzania so magical! My favorite … the croc’s mouth. Thanks again for sharing.

  3. It would be extremely helpful for those of us planning our trips to know what camera/lenses you used, or wish your used… Nice photos!

  4. I took these photos. Amazingly, I bought the camera two days before the trip. I had heard about a new generation of fixed lens cameras with 50X zoom. I went to Costco and they had a sale on the Nikon P600. Everyone on our trip had camera envy, even those who rented huge lenses for the SLRs. The Nikon P600 outperformed every other camera AND the 60X zoom made a huge difference PLUS the lens took in way more light than any SLR detachable lens. The Nikon P600 is an incredible camera, and I got the entire kit for $450 at Costco — it was a $150 instant discount at the time, so it may regularly be $600. Incredible.

    1. These photos are great, I know nothing about photography but have recently bought the Nikon P600 for an up coming trip to South Africa. What setting(s) did you use for these?
